J.U.L.I.E.

811Power and telecommunication services are often delivered through a network of underground utilities along with the buried gas services, and Village water, sewer and storm sewer infrastructure. To avoid damaging the buried utilities, state law requires you to call J.U.L.I.E. (811 or 800-892-0123) before any digging project, regardless of the project size or depth.

J.U.L.I.E. (Joint Utility Locating Information for Excavators) is a not-for-profit corporation that provides contractors, excavators, homeowners, and others who may be disturbing the earth, with a free service phone number to call for the locating and marking of underground utility facilities. As a member of the service, the Village is required to locate our underground utilities within 48 hours of initial notification. We process approximately 3,600 locate requests per year on average.

J.U.L.I.E. is a not-for-profit message handling service for homeowners and contractors. J.U.L.I.E. operators are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The call is free and so are the services. Just call a helpful call center operator at J.U.L.I.E. and they'll alert member utility companies of your plans to dig so they can come out and mark their underground lines at your site.

All you need to do is call two working days in advance. For more information, visit the Illinois One-Call website.
